Moder criticized Take-Two: “Instead of removing mods, they should focus on creating worthy remakes”

To better understand the current situation, you must return a few days ago, when Modder, nicknamed BLOC, released the modification of Sentient Streets. An interesting project developer, based on artificial intelligence, allowed to talk with NPC in Grand Theft Auto V. It was enough for the player to approach any resident of Los Santos and activate the corresponding function – after that he could chat with the NPC by the microphone.

Undoubtedly, this modification could very positively affect the gameplay. I could, but, unfortunately, we will not be able to see it on its development, since Take-Two began attempts to remove this mod.

The creator of the fashion, mentioned at the beginning of the article, decided to betray the whole thing public.

Yesterday, Take-Two Interactive sent me a DMCA strap in connection with my video dedicated to the fashion for GTA V, and YouTube immediately deleted the material, not allowing me to explain myself. The reason for deleting a video of Take-Two Interactive was that I used them their software (Grand Theft Auto V). None of the representatives of Take-Two Interactive contacted me and did not ask anything in advance, they simply deleted the video without explaining the reasons. Two days ago, the work of my Netlify account was also suspended. I used NETLIFY to place the instructions for installing mod. Of course, I should not judge without evidence, since Netlife did not bother to give any explanation, but it seems to me that these two cases are connected.

Further, Modder added that he tried to contact Take-Two to clarify the situation. Unfortunately, to no avail.

I contacted the applicant at the email address indicated on YouTube (it was the email address of Take-Two), in the hope that, perhaps, there was a slight misunderstanding or that they can clarify the causes of the incident. Perhaps this happened automatically, but the facts indicate a deliberate manual request for deletion in connection with a violation of copyright. I also did not receive any answer. It seems that they just attack my mod from all sides.

BLOC expressed his disappointment "hostile attitude" the company and emphasized that they have no visible reasons for removing fashion. The creator also wondered why his project was deleted from YouTube for copyright violations, while the site has millions of other videos on the topic of GTA V.

I must say that I, as a person who grew up on the Grand Theft Auto series and enjoyed all the games for many years, is such a hostile attitude towards me and fashion is very upset [. ] If the video had something violating copyright (for example, my words, miniature or something in the description, etc.D.), I would be glad to discuss this with the contact person Take-Two if they just wrote me a letter. Instead, they chose a non -communal approach.

The developer did not fail to point out the conflicting publishing policy of the company aimed at receiving as many money as possible. BLOC also mentioned that in June, Rockstar removed many cars from GTA Online, which got only users of GTA subscriptions+.

I hope that everyone who liked this mod will remember this unfair act Take-Two every time they hear news about Rockstar. Instead of pursuing the modders, they should focus on creating worthy remakes with more profitable prices or stop removing online cars to then sell them to players.

BLOC summed up the whole situation, quoting the words of Rockstar Games (Take-Two subsidiary) in 2022.

I will finish this post with Rockstar words about modding and ask you to think about whether these actions correspond to their public statement from 2022: "Rockstar Games always believed in the rational work of fans, and we want the developers to demonstrate their passion for our games".

Recall that last week Rockstar announced the purchase of developers of popular Fivem and Redm modifications for role -playing servers in GTA V and RDR2. Interestingly, a few years ago this group was banned by the company.
